It looks like Meizu might be announcing a few more partnerships with brands specialising in other consumer electronics at this weeks “Connected” launch. AKG acoustics likely among them.
Meizu’s “Connected” launch, on the 28th, is getting a lot of press of being the launch pad for the 5-inch Meizu m1 mini, but it is looking more likely that the mini phone launch will just be a small part of the event.
Meizu has already announced a partnership with Haier (a large Chinese white goods maker), is rumoured to release a smart router, and even a health monitor, but along with those rumours is the possibility for a collaboration with acoustics specialists AKG.
A post from the official Meizu Weibo shows something between AKG and Meizu could be unveiled on the 28th January. The pairing of the too companies would be perfect after the release of the audio-centric Meizu MX4 Pro, and as the company look to diverse its range.
For those of you not familiar with AKG, they are an Austrian company specialising in acoustics products ranging including microphones and headphones. Their headphones in particular have become extremely popular with music professionals of the years.
